• European Parliament just passed the landmark Artificial Intelligence Act. This bans AI’s use of biometrics identification systems by law enforcement, facial recognition, social scoring, and the ability to exploit user vulnerabilities. Infrastructure, education, and employment apps will have strict rules (Link).

• Pinterest launched an AI tool that lets users filter search results by body type. The filter starts with “a visual cue to select between four body type ranges.” It’s only available in the U.S. for women’s fashion and wedding-related items, but it will expand to men’s fashion later this year (Link).

• AI for cancer - Researchers developed an AI-driven tool for near real-time cancer surveillance and improved cancer treatments and diagnoses (Link).
