3 Ways to Improve Chatbot Engagement

Chatbot engagement depends on the site's offerings and how it engages users. It can range from 3% to 10% of visitors. If the product or service is complex or has sales obstacles, there's often more engagement. If the chatbot is in a support section of a site, then engagement will also be higher.
1) Say what type of chatbot you are.
Setting user expectations is very important. If I blindfold you and ask you to try this beer and its milk you are usually not a happy camper. Don't frustrate your customers. Do not use images of a human if you are an AI bot. A human image represents live chat. If your customers have a bad experience it can hurt your sales and brand.
2) Ask questions that target your prospect's desire or problem.
Create a question that will engage them in conversation. Like in sales, we want to intrigue the prospect into a conversation and then guide them to the right product, service, or solution. The bot should ask questions like if you walk into a store and ask someone for help.
3) Engage the customer at the right time with the right question.
Match your questions with the customer's sales journey. A chatbot shouldn't interrupt a person as they're reading or making a decision. It should ask relevant questions on the right pages; for example, it should ask a broader question on the home page and a specific question on product/service pages or checkout.
